Several ASUS motherboards have been leaked by VideoCardz ahead of ASUS 29th October live unveiling event, in Paris.
It does answer several questions and already we can see that, despite several technologies improvement (DDR, PCIe 5.0, LGA 1700, etc…), the boards aesthetics stay relatively close to the Z590 predecessors.

Thanks Laurent – ASUS is definitely my choice for the Z690 – most any MB purchase these days I’d say. haha – the ROG MAXIMUS Z690 APEX has TWO PS2 ports!! Luv it!! Great to see as I think they are under-rated by users today. I’m not a gamer but I know they’re great for games as they’re quicker response than USB. I’ve found on a few occasions that my PS2 port has really got me out of a bind as it enabled me to get into certain CD-based operating systems when the mouse of keyboard drivers failed to take. Shadow protect backup and once on Macrium. Love the PS2 port for that backup safety access for mouse OR keyboard. Highly unusual for this Z690 to have TWO – most times these days it is one at the most, if any. Alderlake should really set these boards on fire! Still want my USB4 though :-))
