NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 40 SUPER GPUs Will Be Available In January: 4070 SUPER On 17th, 4070 Ti SUPER On 24th, 4080 SUPER On 31st
NVIDIA is finalizing the launch of the long awaited GeForce RTX 40 SUPER GPU lineup which will be introduced on the 8th of January at CES 2024. Following the unveiling, NVIDIA will allow AIB partners to begin marketing campaigns for their respective lineups. This recent update to AICs has allowed the tech leakers to gain knowledge of the on-shelf dates of these GPUs which as ITHome reports are (via Chinese Board Channel Forums):
The DATES:
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 SUPER Unveil: 8th January
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Shelf Launch: 17th January
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Shelf Launch: 24th January
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Shelf Launch: 31st January
The trio of the RTX 40 SUPER family will be unveiled the same day (8th of January) but their actual availability will be spread all along the 2nd half of January. All cards will be launched a week apart which should give reviewers enough time for testing and AIBs to work on marketing for their latest products.
No word yet on a potential NVIDIA’s Founders Edition design so far.
For the rest, here is a little reminder of what we already know about the SUPER line-up
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER
SPECIFICATIONS
GPU: AD103-400 (PG139 SKU 355)
CORES: 10,240
TMUs: 320 TMUs
ROPs: 112
L2 cache: 64 MB
BUS: 256-bit
RAM: 16 GB DDR6X
TGP: 320W
MSRP: $1199
PERFORMANCES
In terms of performance, the graphics card is expected to be 3-5% faster than the RTX 4080 Non-SUPER which isn’t a huge gain but custom models will deliver close to 10% performance boosts. NVIDIA hasn’t decided on the pricing of the SUPER series lineup yet but this small performance boost should help the card be faster than the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and if it comes at anything around $1000-$1100 US, then that ends up being very competitive.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER
SPECIFICATIONS
GPU: AD103-275 / AD102-175 GPU SKUs (PG141 SKU 323). Both will be available
CORES: 8,448
TMUs: TBD
ROPs: TBD
L2 cache: 48 MB
BUS: 256-bit
RAM: 16 GB DDR6X
TGP: 285W
MSRP: $799
PERFORMANCES
For performance, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16 GB GPU will offer an average 15% boost in performance over the Non-SUPER variant and should compete well against the Radeon RX 7900 XT at a possible lower price point.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER
SPECIFICATIONS
GPU: AD104-350 or AD103-175 SKU (PG141 SKU 335)

L2 cache: 48 MB
BUS: 192-bit
RAM: 12 GB DDR6X
TGP: 220W ( 20W > RTX 4070 )
MSRP: $599
PERFORMANCES
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER should end up being around 14% faster than the RTX 4070 Non-SUPER. The graphics card will also get the new CEM 5.1 Gen5 power connector. The existing RTX 4070 graphics cards either come with an 8-pin connector or a 12-pin power connector (supplied with an adapter).
